Loving Luella...

So Luella's showing in London again. And what a difference a town makes!

Less fussy than before but somehow so beautiful Spring '10 is inspired by 'mid-sixities Sunday-best' according to Style.com which I am coming across more and more as I see the new collections. Think (500) Days of Summer with a gorgeous palette of pastels and cheerful brights.

Definitely off to track down some vintage 60's numbers before they all go!

Top Knot(ch)

American Apparel Daily Blog Feature

Marc Jacobs - S/S '10

I stumbled upon top knots a while ago but they actually seem to be having their moment seen here at Marc Jacobs for his Spring '10 Collection but is seen here in the AA blog I think it's actually a wearable, cool look - in a hipster way.

Hmm...

K.T.Z. for EDIT

KTZ bauble dress, £240

I came across this amazing number whilst scanning the latest issue of Time Out where it mentioned K.T.Z. (stands for Kokon To Zai) are part of the next EDIT boutique (they also took part in the previous one) popping up in Topshop's flagship store on Oxford Street.

A-M-A-Z-I-N-G.

The rest of the A/W '09 Collection is pretty spectacular too, with A/W trends a-hoy including thigh high boots (though a lot more raw and edgy than it's RTW counterparts), plenty of embellishment (incl. a cape version of the dress, above), and a grunge edge described by the designer, Marjan Pejoski as simply:

'Future/Ghost/Tribal/Afrika'.

Check out the rest of the collection at: http://www.kokontozai.co.uk/

LFW: The Brits Return

Burberry, Matthew Williamson, Antonio Berardi, Pringle... just a few of the names helping to mark the 25th Anniversary of London Fashion Week by making a return home.

For Burberry, in particular, it marks the first year since Christopher Bailey took over the helm as Creative Director in 2001 that they'll show in London. As he puts it to Hilary Alexander for The Telegraph, "...it was a gut instinct. It’s the 25th anniversary, films are being made, art, theatre and design are buzzing, they’re planning the Olympics. London is the place to be right now."

“This is a big deal for me and for Burberry. We’re the biggest luxury fashion company in the UK and here we are, we’re home.”

This is going to be good...
